Maximilian von Vrints zu Falkenstein (* February 4, 1802 , † June 10, 1896 at Poysbrunn Palace ) was a large Austrian landowner and diplomat.

Life

As an imperial baron , Vrints studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität . In 1818 he was one of the founders of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg (I). Since 1844 member of the Lower Austrian gentry, he was in the diplomatic service of the Emperor of Austria, envoy to the Kingdom of Denmark (1846-1851) and the Kingdom of Belgium (1851-1860). Then he retired to his estates in the Weinviertel .

With the predicate to Falkenstein , Franz Joseph I elevated him to the rank of count in 1861 . In 1871 he was appointed a lifelong member, and in 1873 a hereditary member, of the manor house (Austria) . He sat on the National Debt Control Commission of the Reichsrat and the delegation to discuss the joint budget . From April 6, 1861 to January 2, 1867 - about the German War - and from February 18, 1867 to May 22, 1870, he represented the large landowners in the Lower Austrian state parliament and in the Reichsrat (Austria) . 1887–1889 he had the Palais Vrints zu Falkenstein built in Vienna. His son of the same name sat on Steinabrunn and died in 1900 at the age of 51.
