Maxine Birkerstraße (* 24. December 1989 in Bielefeld as Maxine Mittendorf ) is a German football player . The midfielder played for Herford SV until 2010 , with whom she was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 2008 and 2010 .

Career

At the age of five, Maxine Mittendorf watched her older brother play soccer. She was enthusiastic and wanted to play herself. Her father Wolfgang Mittendorf , an ex-professional with Arminia Bielefeld , then registered with SV Häger . She quickly overtook her male teammates, so she moved to Arminia Bielefeld in the D-Jugend . At the age of twelve she had to leave the club because she was no longer allowed to play with boys in a team. Via the intermediate station VfL Theesen and SC Halle she moved to FC Gütersloh 2000 , where she was trained by her father.

In summer 2005 she moved to the first division club FFC Heike Rheine . After only a year she returned to Gütersloh because she could no longer reconcile the long train journeys to Rheine with school. From 2007 she ran for Herford SV and rose to the Bundesliga in 2008 and 2010. During the 2010/2011 season, her contract was terminated because Mittendorf wanted to concentrate on her professional training.

From March 2012 Mittendorf played for the Westphalia division Arminia Bielefeld , where she had been playing assistant coach since 2014 . With Arminia, Birker rose to the Regionalliga West in 2015 and a year later to the 2nd Bundesliga . After the descent in 2018, the direct ascent succeeded a year later. Birker, who was pregnant at the time , left Arminia at the end of the season and continued her career six months later at her home club SV Häger in the district league.

In 2004 she made her debut in the U-15 national team, a year later in the U-17 national team. On September 26, 2006, she made her debut in the U-19 national team. In the game against Georgia , she scored four goals in just twenty minutes.

Birker is married and gave birth to their first child in October 2019.
