Maxwell Henry Gluck

Maxwell Henry Gluck (born November 4, 1899 in Commerce ( Texas ), † November 21, 1984 in Los Angeles ( California )) was an American diplomat and ambassador of the United States in Ceylon .

Life

Gluck married Muriel Schlesinger in 1948 and was a successful entrepreneur in the women's clothing sector. He supported the election campaigns of Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956 with hundreds of thousands of dollars . Eisenhower appointed him his ambassador to Prime Minister Ceylon's SWRD Bandaranaike in 1957 . The term of office was from September 19, 1957 to October 2, 1958. At his hearing in Congress , he did not know the name of the Prime Minister of Ceylon.

In 1967 he was appointed to the supervisory board of AS Beck Shoe Corporation , a manufacturer of shoe shine machines.
