Maya Lawrence (born July 17, 1980 in New York City ) is a former American sword fencer .
successes
Maya Lawrence took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , where she finished the individual competition in 16th place. In the team competition, she reached the semi-finals with the US team, which were lost to South Korea . The final battle for third place against Russia ended at 31:30 just in favor of the Americans, who, in addition to Lawrence, also included Susie Scanlan , Courtney and Kelley Hurley . In the same year she was in Cancun both in the individual and in the team competition Pan American champion .
Lawrence studied at Princeton University , for which she was also active in college sports. She graduated in Political Science and African American Studies in 2002 .
