Alphons Mayr from Baldegg
Alphons Mayr von Baldegg (born June 15, 1789 in Lucerne ; † October 3, 1875 in Saint-Marcellin ) was a Swiss soldier in French service. He came from the Lucerne patrician family of the same name .
Life
Alphons Mayr von Baldegg was on June 15, 1789 son of the provincial governor was born and court president Karl Mayr von Baldegg and Elizabeth (nee Schwytzer Buonas) in Lucerne. After attending grammar school in Lucerne, Mayr was taken on by Baldegg as a military service officer in French services. In this capacity he took part in the campaigns to Spain from 1803 to 1814 and 1823 . Mayr von Baldegg was promoted to General Staff Officer in 1812 and Général de brigade in 1845 . As commander , he led from 1848 to 1851 the military school of La Flèche and 1848-1851 the General Staff School in Paris .
Alphons Mayr von Baldegg, who was married to Françoise Brenier de Montmorand, the daughter of a general, died on October 3, 1875 at the age of 86 in Saint-Marcellin in the Isère department .
