The McLaughlin Cliffs are steep cliffs on the Rymill Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . On George VI Sound, they rise up between the confluences of the Armstrong and Conchie glaciers . The cliffs are among the breeding areas of the snow petrel .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named her in 1976 after Lieutenant Donald J. McLaughlin of the Civil Engineer Corps of the United States Navy Reserve Forces , who headed Palmer Station in 1970.
