Me and Cassity is a band project of the former singer of The Jeremy Days , Dirk Darmstaedter , which has released four albums in loose succession since 1996 .
background
After the breakup of his band The Jeremy Days, Darmstaedter turned to a solo project that he started under the name Me and Cassity. In 1996 the self-titled debut album was released by Universal Music , but the label broke the contract before the release of the second album.
In 2002 he founded the Wallpaper Records label with Gunther Buskies , acquired the publishing rights to Me and Cassity from Universal , and re-released the album in an expanded version before releasing the second studio album Hope, With A Pain Chaser, that same year . After the release of Between Wake And Sleep, in whose creation Tess Wiley was also involved, Darmstaedter released five albums under his own name by 2011, before another new album by Me and Cassity was released in 2012 with Appearances .
Rolling Stone wrote of Me and Cassity that it was “unpretentious pop music,” she sounded “a bit more like a singer / songwriter and so relaxed that, wonderfully, you don't even hear all the pain of the past”.
