Mechanicsburg is a borough in Cumberland County in the US state of Pennsylvania with a population of just under 10,000.
Located about 10 kilometers west of Harrisburg , the site is home to the NASCAR Williams Grove Speedway and the NCISRU Navy Law Enforcement Unit .
An electrified experimental operation of the Pennsylvania Railroad drove here from 1906 to 1928 .
On November 14, 2014, the Harrisburger Patriot-News apologized 150 years after it was published for an editorial on the speech by American President Abraham Lincoln.
