Alois Senti

Alois Senti (born June 3, 1930 in Flums ; † June 26, 2015 ) was a Swiss editor , author , folklorist and legend researcher .

Life

Alois Senti came from a farming family and, after completing an apprenticeship at the Flums municipal administration, attended the arts and crafts school in Vevey . 1954–58 he was advertising manager of the press office of Robert Bosch GmbH in Geneva , 1958–61 editor of the Rheintaler Volksfreunds in Au SG , 1961–85 editor and 1985–95 managing director of the Agricultural Information Service (LID) in Bern . He was instrumental in founding the BauernZeitung , which was published from 1994 onwards as the organ of the largest Swiss agricultural organizations, the Swiss Farmers' Association and Swiss milk producers.

In addition to specialist agricultural books such as What does a cow cost? (1973) and Around the Farm (1975) he published numerous articles on cultural history and folklore books and stories in dialect. His legacy on legends was returned to the Sarganserland in 2018 (Sarganserland Historical Association and Sarganserland-Walensee Valley Community).

Alois Senti lived in Köniz near Bern for many years until his death .
