Medea Nikolajewna Jugeli (born August 1, 1925 in Kutaisi , † January 8, 2016 in Tbilisi ) was a Soviet gymnast who won two Olympic medals in 1952.

The Medea Jugeli, who started for Dinamo Tbilisi , won the jumping title at the Soviet championships in 1945 , in 1947 and from 1951 to 1955 further titles were added. A Soviet team competed for the first time at the 1952 Olympic Games . The Soviet squad with Marija Gorochowskaja , Nina Botscharowa , Galina Minaitschewa , Galina Urbanowitsch , Pelageja Danilowa , Galina Schamrai , Medea Jugeli and Jekaterina Kalintschuk won with 527 points ahead of the Hungarians with almost 521 points and the team from Czechoslovakia with 503 points. In the individual all-around competition, Jugeli took ninth place behind six Soviet gymnasts and Hungarians Margit Korondi in third and Ágnes Keleti in sixth place. Jugeli was also ninth on the uneven bars . In her best discipline, the jump, Jugeli reached fourth place behind her teammates Kalinchuk, Gorokhovskaya and Minaicheva. Group gymnastics was also part of the Olympic program, in this competition the Swedes won ahead of the Soviet squad and the Hungarians.

Djugeli ended her active career in 1955 and was then a gymnastics and gymnastics teacher in Tbilisi. From 1962 to 1965 she was in charge of the gymnastics team of the Georgian SSR , and from 1965 to 1970 the Soviet women's squad . Jugeli later worked as a judge in gymnastics. From 1991 to 2005 she was Vice President of the Georgian Gymnastics Federation.
