Media in Zambia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The media in Zambia , insofar as they are politically oriented, are largely state-owned. However, since the pluralization under Zambian law, it is relatively easy to start a broadcaster or a newspaper. Since then, there has been a press landscape in Zambia that deserves this name, even if licensing is handled restrictively. Article 20, paragraph 1, of the Zambian Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, paragraph 2, freedom of the press, but paragraph 3 allows these freedoms to be restricted "in accordance with the principles of a democratic society".
