Media in Mozambique
Media freedom in Mozambique is enshrined in the country's constitution. In reality, however, defamation legislation prevents real freedom of expression and the opposition complains about restrictions on access to state media . An independent body, the Conselho Superior da Comunicação Social (Supreme Council for Mass Media), is responsible for safeguarding the freedom of the press and the public's right to information.
watch TV
The most popular mass medium in the urban centers of Mozambique is television , with the state Televisão de Moçambique (TVM) as the most important broadcaster, followed by the private Soico TV (STV). Due to the common Portuguese (traffic) language, the Africa service RTP Africa of the Portuguese state television Rádio e Televisão de Portugal and TV Miramar ( Brazilian owned) is seen a lot.
