history
The main stages in the history of Mediolanum SpA can be summarized as follows:
- 1982 : Ennio Doris founds Programma Italia SpA through a joint venture with the Fininvest Group , which controls 50% of the company's capital through Fininvest Italia SpA. It is the first network in Italy to offer global advice in the savings sector.
- 1983 : Creation of Gestione Fondi Fininvest SpA: Programma Italia holds a 25% stake, the remainder being Fininvest Italia (a company of the Fininvest group active in the insurance and financial sector, of which Doris has a 24% stake holds), an investment fund management association under Italian law. She subsequently changed her name to "Mediolanum Gestione Fondi".
- 1984 : Acquisition of the insurance companies Mediolanum Vita and Mediolanum Assicurazioni.
- 1985 : Establishment of Gestione Fondi Fininvest, an investment fund management association under Italian law.
- 1994 : Programma Italia SpA changes its name to "Mediolanum SpA", which becomes the holding company for all activities in the sector.
