Basiglio is an Italian commune with 8084 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Milan , Lombardy region . Basiglio borders the municipality of Pieve Emanuele and is just 10 kilometers from Milan as the crow flies .

Demographics

Basiglio has 3,263 private households . Between 1991 and 2001 the population increased from 6,552 to 8,336. This corresponds to a percentage increase of 27.2%. The sudden increase in population between 1981 and 1991 can be explained by the fact that massive housing construction measures called Milano 3 took place in the late 1970s .
