Paullo is a city of 11,290 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Milan , Lombardy region . The name of the community comes from the Latin palus (swamp). The area was first referred to as Paullum in 1140. In the local dialect, the name is pronounced as Paü .

On April 2, 2009, Paullo was given city status by a decree of the President of the Republic of Italy.

The towns of Mulazzano ( LO ), Mediglia , Tribiano , Merlino ( LO ), Settala and Zelo Buon Persico ( LO ) are in the immediate vicinity of Paullo .
