Gaggiano is a municipality with 9,205 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Milan , Lombardy region .
The municipality is located about 17 km southwest of Milan . The station on the Milan – Mortara line is served by the S 9 line of the Milan S-Bahn . The municipality is also located on the Naviglio Grande , on which there was a shipping connection for goods transport between Milan and Lake Maggiore from the 13th to the middle of the 20th century .
The neighboring municipalities of Gaggiano are Cusago , Cisliano , Albairate , Trezzano sul Naviglio , Vermezzo con Zelo , Zibido San Giacomo , Gudo Visconti , Noviglio and Rosate .
