Meghan O'Leary

Meghan O'Leary (born August 24, 1984 in Tulsa ) is an American rower .

Meghan O'Leary graduated from the University of Virginia where she played softball and volleyball. She only started rowing in 2010 after completing her studies.

The 1.83 m tall rower began her international career in 2013 when she formed a double scull with Ellen Tomek . At the World Championships , they took seventh place in the double scull, followed by sixth place in 2014 . Eleventh place at the 2015 World Championships meant qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games. At the Olympic Regatta in Rio de Janeiro , Ellen Tomek and Meghan O'Leary reached the A-final and finished sixth. The two started together in 2017 and won the silver medal behind the New Zealand double scull at the World Championships in front of their home crowd in Sarasota . The following year, the Lithuanians won the World Championships in Plovdiv ahead of the New Zealanders, while Tomek and O'Leary received bronze.
