Mehdi Farrokh

Mehdi Farrokh ( Persian مهدی فرخ Mehdi Farroch ; * 1886 in Tehran ; † 1973 ) was an Iranian diplomat and politician.

He married Ezzat Saltaneh Tabatabai-Diba (1904–1982); his son was Fereydoun Farrokh .

Career

Farrokh graduated in political science at the University of Tehran and joined the Foreign Service. He was a minister in five governments. He was governor general of the provinces: Azerbaijan , Fars , Kerman , Balochistan and Sistan and Khorasan . From 1948 to 1949 he was ambassador in Nanking ( Republic of China ). He headed the Iranian delegation to the Border Commission for Afghanistan and Iran. He was three times a member of the Majles and four times a senator .

Mehdi Farrokh traveled in Europe and spoke Russian and Turkish.
