Mehmed Halilović (2019)

Mehmed Halilović (* 1976 in Novo Selo , Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina , Yugoslavia ) is a diplomat from Bosnia and Herzegovina . He is currently the ambassador of his country in the Indonesian capital Jakarta , with a second accreditation for Singapore and East Timor . Before that, he was the Bosnian-Herzegovinian ambassador to Kuwait and a member of the military in the Bosnian war .

Career

Halilović studied in the Sudanese Khartoum at the Faculty of Defense and Security of the University of Khartoum , where he graduated in 1997. After graduating, he joined the army of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and became a platoon leader in the hunter battalion. Later, Halilović completed training in leadership, logistics and languages ​​in Malaysia and the United States of America . During his military career, he took on the tasks of a liaison officer and public relations officer at headquarters for cooperation between military and civilian agencies. Eventually he became a major in the Directorate of Intelligence and Security in Operations Command.

From 2015 to 2018 Halilović was the Bosnian-Herzegovinian ambassador to Kuwait. During this time, Kuwait was involved with development aid in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for example with a bypass in Zenica and numerous humanitarian projects. Kuwaiti investments in the economy were also an issue during Halilović's tenure. Halilović made his farewell visit to Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah , the foreign minister and first deputy prime minister of Kuwait, on August 10, 2018.

On November 8, 2018, Halilović took up his new post as Bosnian-Herzegovinian, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Jakarta. He handed over his accreditation for Indonesia to Indonesia's President Joko Widodo . In addition, Halilović is also accredited for other countries in Southeast Asia. On July 25, 2019, he presented his accreditation to President Halimah Yacob in Singapore. In East Timor, Halilović presented his accreditation to President Francisco Guterres on October 15, 2019 . In the Malaysian Kuala Lumpur has its own BiH message that for Brunei is responsible.
