Mehmet Öztonga (born August 12, 1990 in İzmit ) is a Turkish football player . His older cousin Engin Öztonga was active as a professional football player in the Süper Lig and the TFF 1. Lig for over a decade .
Career
Öztonga learned to play football in the Kocaelispors youth department . Here he received a professional contract in October 2006, but continued to play exclusively for the youth and reserve teams for the next three years. It was only towards the end of the 2008/09 season that he completed three league games with the then first division club until the end of the season. After the club missed relegation in the summer of 2009 and had to play in the TFF 1. Lig the next season , Öztonga stayed loyal to the club and played in 15 league games. Since Kocaelispor also missed relegation in this league, Öztonga left the troubled club and moved to the second division Diyarbakırspor . Without having played a competitive game for this club, he moved to the next winter transfer period to league rivals Kayseri Erciyesspor . Here he was only used sporadically in a year and loaned to the fourth division Diyarbakır Kayapınar Belediyespor for the second half of the 2011/12 season.
In the summer of 2012 Öztonga left Erciyesspor and then played successively for the clubs Erzurum Büyükşehir Belediyespor , Gölcükspor and Nazilli Belediyespor .
In the winter transfer period 2014/15 he was signed by the Istanbul third division club Ümraniyespor . In his second season, the 2015/16 season , he rose with this club as a master of the TFF 2nd Lig in the TFF 1st Lig .
