Carl Gustav von Güldenstubbe (born November 16, 1739 in Ösel , Livonia , † February 23, 1814 in Arensburg ) was a Baltic nobleman , state politician, councilor and aristocratic marshal von Ösel.

Life

Carl Gustav initially served in the Imperial Russian Army and achieved the rank of major , with which he also retired from military service. In 1773 the öselsche Landtag elected him aristocratic marshal, which he held until 1783. After that he was district administrator in the Oesel parliament. After leaving the state parliament, he was elected consistorial director and head churchman of the church province of Ösel. He held his last office as a State Councilor. He owned the Carmel, Hannial, Kaunifer, Arrust Cöln, Mehemois, Hallik and Jöggis estates on Ösel.

The Baltic-Swedish aristocratic family Güldenstubbe provided outstanding personalities in politics and administration on the island of Ösel in the 18th and 19th centuries. Karl Gustav's father was the Russian ensign Carl Friedrich von Güldenstubbe (January 31, 1703 - June 27, 1787 in Ösel), who was married to Brigitte Charlotte von Rehren (1706–1753 in Ösel). His cousin was Johann Gustav von Güldenstubbe (1731–1780), who held the office of land marshal on the island of Ösel . Carl Gustav married Anna Christine Sege von Laurenberg (1748–1814) in 1763 with whom he had the following descendants:
