Johann Gustav von Güldenstubbe (born June 24, 1731 in Ösel , Livonia ; † February 18, 1780 ) was a Baltic state politician and Land Marshal von Ösel.

Career

Johann Gustav studied in 1748 at the University of Halle Jura and returned to his diploma on the island of Saaremaa back in Arensburg he took over the position as court assessor . In 1756 a state parliament was held in the ösel capital Arensburg with the representatives of the ösel knighthood and the district administrators . This dealt mainly with the repayment of old debts and with new permits. Johann Gustav von Güldenstubbe was elected as the successor to the outgoing Knighthood Secretary, and he then ran the business of the Knighthood. On January 30, 1765, a Landtag was opened again, on which Land Marshal Hermann Gustav von Weymarn and Colonel von Poll were appointed district administrators and Assessor Güldenstubbe was elected Land Marshal, which he held until 1772. In February 1773 was again the state parliament, a cousin of Johann Gustav the Younger, the district administrator Carl Gustav von Güldenstubbe (1739-1814), was elected aristocratic marshal according to the new electoral regulations . In 1777, the current district administrator, Johann Gustav von Güldenstubbe, was elected head of the church for the church province of Ösel.

Family and offspring

The Baltic-Swedish aristocratic family Güldenstubbe was an important family on the island of Ösel, which is part of today's Estonia, in the 18th and 19th centuries. His father was the court assessor and heir of Carmel, Clausholm and Riddemetz Johann Gustav von Güldenstubbe (the elder, 1700-1739), who was married to Katharina Margaretha Kynnard († 1776). Johann Gustav the Younger (1734–1779) married Charlotta Louisa von Nolcken (1735–1788), they had no offspring. The noble family of the Güldenstubbes continued in the male line with his older brother Friedrich Anton von Güldenstubbe (1733–1781).
