Hermann Gustav von Weymarn

Hermann Gustav von Weymarn (born February 16, 1717 in Tamsa , Livonia , † January 13, 1771 in Lööne , Ösel ) was a Baltic nobleman of German origin. He was an Oesel district administrator and country marshal as well as a deputy in Moscow .

Career

He ended his military career with the rank of captain of the Imperial Russian Army . He then devoted himself to state politics on the island of Ösel, where he was elected Land Marshal in 1760. From 1765 to 1767 he was an estate manager, and from 1767 to 1768 he was sent to the law commission in Moscow as a deputy of the ösel knighthood .

Origin and family

The noble family von Weymarn is of German-Baltic descent and has been resident in the Baltic States since the end of the 17th century . His father was the District Court Assessor Jobst (Jodocus) von Weymarn (1688-1731), who was married to Eva Sophia von Vietinghof (1688-1761). They had 12 children; three of these sons went down in history:

Hermann Gustav married Katharina Margaretha von Güldenstubbe (1726–1803) in 1745 ; they had the following offspring:

  • Anton Gustav von Weymarn (1745–1749)
  • Peter Heinrich von Weymarn (* 1749), colonel and director of a cadet corps
  • Matthias Friedrich (Fedor Ivanovich) von Weymarn (1751–1822), founder of the Estonian line
  • Sophie Margarethe von Weymarn (* / † 1754)
  • Hedwig Christina von Weymarn (1757–1813), married to Karl Johann von Lode (1743–1799)
  • Heinrich Gustav von Weymarn (1758–1759)
