Mehmet Ali Seyrek (born December 15, 1959 in Nazımiye , Dersim region , Tunceli province in Turkey ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

education and profession

Seyrek grew up as a Kurd in Turkey. He attended school in Istanbul and graduated there with a high school diploma in 1979. In the same year he came to Germany and lived in Lübeck . In 1982 he moved to Bremen. Here he obtained the German Abitur until 1985. From 1985 to 1996 he studied electrical engineering at the University of Bremen , was active in the AStA and was a laboratory supervisor in 1996/97. In 1997 he was also the second manager of the university cafeteria Quarkstube . After graduating, he worked as a translator for several federal authorities and supervised students. In 2010 he worked for the training cooperative Aucoop Bremen in the social care of young people. Since 2011 he has been an employee of a general vocational school in Bremen.

politics

Seyrek has been a member of the SPD since 1994. He was then active in his local association Vahr in various functions and on the advisory board of the Bremen- Vahr district as an expert citizen in the education committee.

From the 18th electoral term on, he has been a member of the Bremen citizenship since June 8, 2011. He was elected to the citizenry by voting. From list position 53 on the SPD list in the electoral district of Bremen, he made a jump to number 12. He is represented in the committee for citizen participation, civic engagement and advisory boards (city), committee for integration, federal and European affairs, international contacts and development cooperation, Works committee workshop Bremen, youth welfare committee, state youth welfare committee and in the petitions committee (state and city) as well as in the city deputation for health.
