Mehmet Reşat Nayır (born July 13, 1911 in Istanbul , † October 25, 1992 ibid) was a Turkish football player , coach and official. Through his many years of work for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and as his own generation, he is very strongly associated with this club and referred to by club and fan pages as one of the most important personalities in the club's history. He worked for the Turkish Football Association and Fenerbahçe as a functionary.
Player career

Nayır went through the youth department of Fenerbahçe Istanbul and was included in the professional squad during the 1928/29 season. He came in this season on September 28, 1928 in the game of the İstanbul Ligi (German Istanbul League ) against Beykozspor to use and made his professional debut. Since there was no national professional league in Turkey at that time, regional leagues existed instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. In the further course of the season Nayır came to seven league appearances and missed with his team the Istanbul championship with a four-point deficit on arch-rivals Galatasaray Istanbul .
Subsequently, Nayır was an integral part of the team until the mid-1930s. After he and his team won the Istanbul championship in the 1929/30 and 1932/33 seasons , he was also part of the Fenerbahçe team that won three consecutive Istanbul championships in the 1934/35 , 1935/36 and 1936/37 seasons could. Fenerbahçe drew level with arch-rivals Galatasaray, who became the first club to reach three consecutive championships. He was also part of the Fenerbahçe team that emerged victorious in the 1936/37 season from Milli Küme , a kind of championship tournament in which the teams of the three cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir participated.
After this successful three seasons, Nayır stayed three more seasons with Fenerbahçe, but could only get one more title in the 1939/40 season with the championship of Milli Küme. Following that season, he retired at the age of 29.
National team
Nayır began his national team career in 1932 with a commitment for the Turkish national team in a friendly against the Hungarian national team . By August 1937, he completed three more games.
With the Turkish selection Nayır took part in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
Coaching career
Nayır looked after Kasımpaşa Istanbul in the 1956/57 season . In 1961 he coached the first division club Vefa Istanbul for about two months .
Functionary career
In March 1961, Nayır was elected to the board of the new club president İsmet Uluğ at Fenerbahçe Istanbul .
