technical description
Hull and drive
The hull of the only completed boat, the MZ 1, was 51.75 meters long, 7.2 meters wide and had a draft of 2.25 meters with a maximum displacement of 315 tons . The drive was carried out by a 6-cylinder diesel engine of Deutz , with a capacity of 1000 horsepower (735 kW ). This power was delivered to a shaft with a screw . The top speed was 14 knots (26 km / h ).
All other boats were to be increased in length by five to 56.75 meters to improve seaworthiness . Instead of the Deutz diesel engine, a Lentz unit expansion machine with 1040 PS (765 kW) was to be installed, which would have increased the operational displacement to 465 tons.
crew
The crew had a strength of 52 men.
Armament
The main armament consisted of two 8.8 cm SK C / 30 guns in single mounts, one in front of and one behind the superstructures.
