Meike Sophia Baader

Meike Sophia Baader (born 1959 ) is a German educationalist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1978, Meike Sophia Baader studied German and educational science at the University of Heidelberg . She completed her studies in 1985 with a master's degree. She then worked as a lecturer at the Universities of Heidelberg and Bremen and at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Pedagogy in Frankfurt am Main until 1994 . Meike Sophia Baader received her doctorate in 1994 from the University of Heidelberg with the educational dissertation The romantic idea of ​​children and childhood .

Afterwards she worked from 1994 to 1996 as a research assistant at the educational science seminar of the University of Heidelberg within a DFG project for the reconstruction of socio-cognitive and socio-moral learning processes within the framework of a democratically regulated execution as ´just community.´ From 1996 to 2003 she was as Research assistant at the Institute for Education at the University of Potsdam . From 2002 to 2003 she was funded with a research grant from the DFG. In 2002 Meike Sophia Baader was able to work with the text Transformations des Religious. Religious Dimensions of Reform Education 1870–1950 Habilitation at the Human Sciences Faculty of the University of Potsdam. In the same year, she was appointed private lecturer.

After teaching positions at the Universities of Heidelberg and Zurich , Meike Sophia Baader received the professorship for general educational science at the University of Hildesheim Foundation in 2005 . From 2006 to 2015 she headed the General Educational Science department. Since 2012 she has been the spokesperson for the Graduate School Gender and Education. In 2015 she became Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences. Baader has been Vice President for Research and Young Scientists at the University of Hildesheim Foundation since May 2017.

In April 2007 she was one of the co-founders of the Competence Center Early Childhood Lower Saxony . Since then, she has been the spokesperson for the Social Transformation, Diversity, Care work unit in the competence center .
