Anhalt milestone at Roda

The milestone at Roda is a small monument in the town of Arnstein in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Sandersleben is located in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz, but historically it belongs to Anhalt and therefore there are two Anhalt milestones north of the small town . The western one is near Freckleben, the eastern one near Roda. This may have gone crazy because it is noticeably exactly on the border. Even if it was sometimes assumed that the listed stone near Roda was already in the Salzlandkreis (at that time still the Aschersleben-Staßfurt district ), it was agreed that it would already be in the district to the south.

Therefore, it is also in the monument register with registration number 094 66026 as a monument on Schackenthaler Straße near Sandersleben . The milestone was found overturned in 1992, but could be set up again and received a rather atypical square plinth. It is badly weathered, the former inscriptions were no longer legible in the 1990s. Today the 100 centimeter high stone stands on the western side of the state road 72 . Both facts leave it open whether it belongs historically to the L 65 and thus to the milestone at Bründel or to the state road 72 and thus to the milestone at Warmsdorf .

  1. ↑ Gollmer, 1994, p. 29 already correctly lists it under the district of Hettstedt , but inadvertently assigns it (Gollmer, 1995, part 3, p. 35) to the new district of Aschersleben-Staßfurt after the district reform in 1994 . This went up in the Salzlandkreis. The district of Mansfelder Land would have been correct . This has been part of the Mansfeld-Südharz district since 2007.
