Anhalt milestone at Güsten

The milestone at Güsten is a small memorial in the Saale-Wipper community in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

Along the former main connection between Anhalt , the Chaussee from Dessau via Köthen and Bernburg into the Harz region , some of the milestones have been preserved and their inscriptions confirm the former route. While the milestone in Bernburgs north bears no discernible inscriptions more today, you can in the much battered stone between Ilberstedt and town Guesten again today VII miles from Dessau read. Obviously it is a copy of the original stone. It is under monument protection and has the registration number 094 97909 in the monument register .

The Anhalt round base stone on Bundesstraße 185 was 90 centimeters high and was restored in 1994 after it had been smashed in a traffic accident. In 1997 it was implemented because it had been repeatedly run over. Also in 1999 the stone was knocked over by a car. This time, however, it was only thrown onto the field and could be set up again. In 2000 the distance indicator disappeared after it was knocked over again and broke. It was restored and this time it was set up again in a new location - on a parking lot - where it was given its own foundation. In 2011 the stone was whitened after being sprayed with graffiti in 2004. The original is now in Halberstadt.
