The association community Saale-Wipper in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt was established on January 1, 2010. As an association community , it largely replaced the administrative community of the same name, Saale-Wipper, which existed up to that day .

Geographical location
The association is located in the southern part of the Magdeburg Börde , east of the Harz Mountains and south of the state capital Magdeburg .
Alsleben and Plötzkau lie on the Saale , the Wipper flows through Giersleben , Güsten and Ilberstedt .
Neighboring communities
Neighboring communities are (clockwise, starting in the north): Staßfurt , Nienburg (Saale) , Bernburg (Saale) , Könnern and Aschersleben .
history
In the course of the regional reform of Saxony-Anhalt , according to which the old administrative communities are to be abolished in favor of unitary communities and association communities , the mayors of the communities of Amesdorf , Alsleben , Giersleben , Güsten , Ilberstedt and Plötzkau agreed in May 2009 to found the association community Saale-Wipper on January 1, 2010. Amesdorf broke away from the Staßfurt administrative community and was incorporated into the city of Güsten, Giersleben left the administrative community of Hecklingen .
