The milestone in Kleinpaschleben is a small monument in the municipality of Osternienburger Land in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It is under monument protection and has the registration number 094 70914 in the monument register , where it is registered as a monument .

The whole milestone stands in the north of the village of Kleinpaschleben at the junction of Crüchener Strasse and Bernburger Strasse and thus on the old Anhalt east-west connection from Dessau via Köthen to Bernburg and Aschersleben , today's federal highway 185 . The milestone of Kleinpaschleben can also be clearly assigned to the course of the old Chaussee because of its labeling, because it contains the information "I mile from Koethen" and "IV miles from Dessau".

The third inscription shows that the distance to Koethen in particular is inconsistent, because it reads “10 Kilom. von Köthen ”. One mile, however, also corresponded to 7.532 kilometers in Anhalt, at least until 1872. The stone was either incorrectly labeled or returned to its old location, because today it is 7.5 kilometers away from Köthen. This shift into the kilometer system can be proven for many milestones in Anhalt and is directly related to the conversion from miles to kilometers in 1874. The 92 centimeter high round base stone is now protected in a small green area next to a pump.

There is still some uncertainty about the age of the Anhalt milestones. They can be verified for the first time in 1853. The east-west connection, on the other hand, is much older and received toll booths such as the customs house in Porst as early as 1822 . You can roughly date them to the second quarter of the 19th century, but the exact installation dates have not yet been researched.
