Conni (correct name Cornelia , mentioned once in Conni and Co. , surname Klawitter , rarely mentioned, born on April 30th) is the main character from the children's and youth book series Meine Freunde Conni , Conni & Co and Conni15 from Carlsen Verlag . All are available both as books and as radio plays; My friend Conni for the little ones as well as Conni & Co have already been filmed.

history

Conni had her first appearance in 1992 in the children's book Conni comes to kindergarten . There are now more than 100 stories that have also been published as Pixi books . Many of the stories made it onto the bestseller lists in the field of picture and youth books. For example, the story Conni comes to school reached 2nd place in the picture books in February 2007. In the children's books, Conni saves grandma reached 1st place in May 2005, Conni and the missing dog were at the top of the sales list in November 2004.

Thematically, the books deal with the life of Conni Klawitter, a girl in a family with traditional roles . She experiences things from everyday life like a move, the first day of kindergarten or school. There is a corresponding story on numerous topics that concern young children.

The author Liane Schneider was inspired by her own daughter, Cornelia, when she invented Conni. The illustrator Eva Wenzel-Bürger developed the picture of Conni . Conni is blonde, usually wears a red bow in her hair, blue dungarees and a red and white ringed top and ringed socks. Some books are also illustrated by Annette Steinhauer.

Due to the success of the character, the publisher decided not only to publish stories from kindergarten and elementary school age through Conni, but also to let the character grow with their readers. That is why the Conni story volumes, which are aimed at children from the age of seven, have existed since 2002. Julia Boehme is the author of the volumes of stories , Herdis Albrecht illustrates the volumes. In 2005 the third part series Conni & Co started for the age group from 10 years. After the first volume by Julia Boehme, Dagmar Hoßfeld wrote the series, which now comprises 13 volumes. The drawings are by Dorothea Tust . Since 2013 Carlsen Verlag, the young adult novel series appears Conni15 by Dagmar Hoßfeld whose protagonist is the now five-year-old Conni. So far there are five volumes: My life, love and all the rest (2013), My summer almost without boys (2014), My best friend, the catwalk and me (2016), My friend the Eiffel Tower and I (2017) and My friends, the rock star and I (2019).

Many of the stories have also been published as radio plays and animated series , there are activity books, a song book, a sticker book and games. Also, there have My friend Conni and the elderly Conni & Co into the cinema managed.

The continuation of the Conni musical is to go on tour from autumn 2017.

Film adaptations

In 2011/12, Youngfilms produced a 26-part animated series with ZDF entitled My Girlfriend Conni , which was broadcast on KiKA from June 13, 2012 . The second season comprised another 26 episodes and went on air in 2015.

All episodes were also released on DVD and are available on streaming portals.

From the beginning of July to September 1, 2015, the shooting for the movie Conni & Co with Emma Schweiger in the title role ran. The film was released on August 18, 2016. In April 2017 the sequel Conni & Co 2 - The Secret of T-Rex started.

The first animated film about Conni will start on July 2nd, 2020: My friend Conni - secret about Mau the cat . The children's film was produced by the makers of the TV series, the Hamburg film production company Youngfilms.
