The Meiselberg , is a 291-meter-high mountain in the 19th Vienna district Döbling .
geography
The Meiselberg forms the north-eastern continuation of the Schenkenberg and is located in the Döbling district of Sievering . It is bordered by the Kaasgraben in the north and the Arbesbach in the south. The mountain lies in a north-eastern extension of the Eastern Alps and is geologically part of the flysch zone , which is composed of sandstone , marl and claystone .
history
The Meiselberg probably got its name because of its sharply drawn back, which means that its name comes from the Middle High German meizel ( chisel ). The Meiselberg is now loosely built with houses, but unlike the surrounding mountains, it is not used for viticulture .
