Master Manny's Toolbox (Handy Manny) is an American computer-animated cartoon series by the Walt Disney Company from 2006 and has 104 episodes in 3 seasons. The series was broadcast on the American channel Playhouse Disney from September 16, 2006, the German broadcast from January 14, 2007 on Disney Junior, then still Playhouse Disney.

content

The friendly handyman Manny is the protagonist in the computer-animated Playhouse Disney series. Together with his both speaking and somewhat idiosyncratic tools, the screwdriver (Turner), Pat, Rosti (Rusty), Zenti (Stretch), Quetschi (Squeeze), Fuxi (Dusty) and Felipe, he helps his friends in need by teaching children Helpfulness. The fun team is always and everywhere there to repair broken things, and it does a lot of nonsense.

Both Manny and his tools are apparently Latinos and occasionally speak Spanish in both the English original and the German dubbing. This bilingualism conveys the culture of the numerous Spanish-speaking immigrants in the American country of origin. This is also supported by the series plot, for example Latin American music or the preparation of Mexican dishes is often presented. The salsa- style theme song comes from the Latino band Los Lobos .

Characters

Master Manny is the Sheetrock Hills craftsman. His talking and idiosyncratic tools are available to him for repairs. In the first episode he receives his own trophy at the "Good Citizens Awards" after repairing it.

Kelly runs a small hardware store and always has everything in stock that Master Manny needs for his work.

Screwdriver ( turner in English ) is a normal slotted screwdriver. He embodies the opposite of Felipe and is grumpy.

Pat is a very talkative hammer. In the episode "Pat the Screwdriver" he temporarily loses his memory. His saying is: "I am a hammer!"

Rosti (in English Rusty ) is a timid wrench that often needs encouragement.

Quetschi (in English squeeze ) are pliers that are impatient to pull out nails.

Zenti (in English stretch ) is a tape measure that loves to measure things. Many of his ideas are a stroke of luck when it comes to repairs. In addition, Zenti talks lisping.

Fuxi (in English Dusty ) is a saw that gives good advice, even if it rarely works. She is obsessed with sawing wood.

Felipe is a cross-head screwdriver (Phillips screwdriver → name) that considers itself an extremely important tool. Many of his ideas make the situation worse. Felipe is the only tool that speaks with a distinct Spanish accent.

Flicker (in English Flicker ) is a flashlight that only speaks Spanish.

Dandy Dan is a friend who runs large construction sites
