Master from 1473

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meister von 1473 is the emergency name of a Westphalian painter from the second half of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century.

The master of 1473 got his emergency name after the Annen or clan altar dated to 1473 in the Wiesenkirche in Soest , which is an early work by this artist. He was in Westphalia, possibly in Johann Koerbecke's workshop , and from the mid-1480s until around 1517 in Lübeck . As with the Lübeck painter Hermen Rode , the influence of the master von Liesborn can also be seen in the master of 1473 . The art historian Harald Busch suggested connecting him to the person of the painter Henning von der Heyde . His works, which were formerly located in Lübeck's Marienkirche , fell victim to the fire after the air raid on Lübeck on March 29, 1942 . There is a crucifixion altar in the Jakobikirche in Lübeck . Since Lübeck, as a Hanseatic city, was also a center of the northern European art trade in the late Middle Ages, works in Scandinavia are also ascribed to it. He is not to be confused with the Bruges master from 1473 .
