description

The church is Romanesque and Gothic . The main entrance is a late Gothic portal , the choir dates from the 14th century.

The oldest part of the building is the late Romanesque tower, which dates from the same time as the Freiburg cathedral tower. The square tower with a gable roof and arched windows is the oldest surviving village church tower in Freiburg.

The three bells with the names Christ, Melanchthon (1954) and Gallus bell (1960) were cast by the Bachert bell foundry in Karlsruhe .

In the sacristy , which is at the foot of the tower, there is a statue of St. Gallus. The historical frescoes have been whitewashed.

The churchyard is surrounded by a wall. When he was resettled in 1842, many old grave slabs were found, some of which can now be seen in the church.
