The Melnik Peak (English; Bulgarian връх Мелник wrach Melnik ) is a 700 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the highest peak of the Melnik Ridge and rises 1.25 km west of Sliven Peak , 2.25 km northwest of Atanasoff Nunatak , 3.05 km northeast to east of Mount Bowles , 3.7 km east to north of Hemus Peak and 5.1 km southeast of Gleaner Heights .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2004 in connection with the mountain ridge of the same name. Its namesake is the city of Melnik in southwestern Bulgaria .
