Melody Sucharewicz (born April 12, 1980 in Munich ) is a German- born Israeli consultant for political communication and strategy. From 2006 to 2007 she was Israel's special ambassador for one year.

Life

Coming from a Jewish family, Sucharewicz emigrated to Israel in 1999 after graduating from the Luitpold-Gymnasium in Munich . Her studies in anthropology and sociology at Tel Aviv University were followed by a Master's (M.Sc.) in Business Management at the same university. She has been a doctoral candidate in War Studies at King's College London since 2012.

Sucharewicz was elected to her role as Israeli ambassador for the Israeli reality TV show The Ambassador . The aim was to select advocates for the interests of Israel from among thousands of candidates. Rhetorical talent and diplomatic skills were just as important as social skills. 14 candidates were shortlisted who had to prove their skills in campaigns in Uganda , Sweden , Russia and the USA . Finally, the three finalists gave speeches at the UN in New York in which they presented their ideas for a Middle East peace. Sucharewicz emerged victorious from this process.

Since her appointment by a committee made up of well-known personalities from the Israeli public, Sucharewicz has been present in the international media, be it through her speeches in front of the European Parliament, through appearances on TV talk shows and interviews in which she promotes the position of Israel and the peace process in the Middle East . After returning from her mission, she worked for the Peres Center for Peace in Tel Aviv , among others . Today she is a consultant in both the private and public sectors. One focus of her public engagement for Israel is Germany.

Controversial discussions sparked her appearance in 2009 on Radio Bremen - Talkshow 3 nach 9 , under the direction of Giovanni di Lorenzo and Amelie Fried , where she clashed with the war correspondent and Middle East expert Peter Scholl-Latour .
