Melvin Jostmann (born July 12, 2000 in Elsen ) is a German basketball player . The 2.01 meter long winger is part of the Science City Jena squad .

career

In his youth, Jostmann first played for TuRa Elsen and then switched to the offspring of the Paderborn Baskets . For the 2017/18 season he was included in the Ostwestfalen squad for the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . At the end of October 2017 he made his debut in the second division against SC Rasta Vechta . In December of the same year he was appointed to a course for the U18 national team.

In summer 2018 Jostmann moved to Science City Jena . In his first season, Jostmann came on four appearances in the first division team. Furthermore, he reached the quarter-finals of the play-offs with the team of the youth basketball league , where they were defeated by FC Bayern Munich , and secured relegation with the second team in the Basketball Regionalliga Südost .
