Memming is a district of the municipality Hofstetten in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .
geography
The hamlet of Memming is located about three kilometers south of Hofstetten in a moraine landscape directly on the road from Landsberg to Dießen .
To the northwest of the hamlet there is a kettle of ice from the Isar-Loisach glacier .
history
The place name suggests a settlement from the time of the Alemannic conquest; the villages of Obermühlhausen , Hagenheim and Hofstetten were probably also settled from Memming in the 7th century .
Memming is first mentioned in 912 as Mammingen , the place name comes from the personal name Mammo.
The hamlet belonged to the Mitteramt of the Landsberg district court , in 1752 two half courtyards are mentioned. Both belonged to the Hl. Geist Spital in Landsberg.
