Menhir of Léhan

Menhir of Léhan

The leaning menhir of Léhan (also called menhir of Léchiagat ) stands near the sea on the edge of the Étang de Léhan , south of Treffiagat near Pont-l'Abbé in Cornouaille in the Finistère department in Brittany in France . The base of the 6.5 m high menhir is now below the mean high tide .

Some Allées couvertes are completely flooded today at high tide . They are evidence of the rise in sea levels since the Neolithic , when the plants were not built so close to the sea . Examples are the Allée couverte by Kernic , the Allée couverte on the Île Coalen and the Allée couverte in the Estuaire de la Quillimadec .

Nearby are the Rochers Gravés du Reun stone and the Reun menhir .
