reception

In her article for the taz , Anja Maier comes to a judgment that is already devastating in the heading : “Hate, factually derived”. She is less concerned with the content than with the circumstances of the book presentation and the authors gathered in the work. "19 men and just 3 women", including the "Pegida understanding" Werner Patzelt , [...] the "blouse zu" propagandist Birgit Kelle and her insight editor-in-chief Roland Tichy ", had warmed up their" well-known prejudices " , which is why the "critical balance of the 22-member Merkel court" is "correspondingly negative".

The former GDR civil rights activist Vera Lengsfeld judged the opposite in an article for the Epoch Times : Although she usually ignores anthologies like this one, she makes an exception here because Plickert has won well-known authors and “because each contribution shows Merkel's misery from a different perspective illuminated, also from those that have received less attention. ”Overall, the“ political bankruptcy of the Chancellor is even bigger than at first and second glance. ”

The FDP politician Frank Schäffler, on the other hand, sees The Huffington Post as a balanced collection of articles in which not only critics have their say, but also benevolent authors such as the historian Michael Wolffsohn.

The Kulturradio also judged the anthology contrary to the taz : "Philip Plickert has succeeded in gathering knowledgeable critics of Merkel's politics."
