The Merrem Peak is a 3000 m high and distinctive mountain peak in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Flood Range it rises 3 km west of the Berlin Crater from Mount Berlin .
Leonard M. Berlin (1908-2004), participant in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941), discovered him together with the team he led in December 1940. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after the American Ionospheric physicist Frank H. Merrem Jr., scientific director of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1970.
