action

The Frankfurt BKA profiler Michelle Eisner made a mistake on her last assignment that ultimately cost a five-year-old boy his life. Now she not only feels guilty, but also drained and is taking a leave of absence from her service. During her break, she travels to Berlin , where she meets the homeless Doris, who seems to be interested in her worries. Ultimately, Doris just wanted to win Eisner's trust and then stole from her. In her helplessness, the inspector meets the introverted writer Thomas Hielmann, who takes her in and with whom she falls in love. But when Eisner learns that another woman murderer is up to mischief and this time Doris has also become a victim, her Hielmann becomes a bit scary. Nevertheless, she stays with him and lets himself be invited to dinner, where she meets Hielmann's rather unsympathetic brother Wolfram.

The murders of women do not leave Eisner in peace and so she contacts the Berlin criminal police. She wants to help investigate the case and is therefore working with Commissioner Stephan Strauch. His department has already noticed Thomas Hielmann and he is arrested on the basis of some evidence. However, Eisner thinks this is premature, she first wants to research more about the victims and meets a woman who had survived. According to her description of the perpetrator, it could not have been Thomas Hielmann and so he is released again. Eisner is also still privately interested in the writer, who has seen and told a lot in the GDR. Since he does not know that she is a police officer, she can continue to investigate undercover. Based on a statement by Hielmann, she thinks it is possible that his brother is the wanted murderer. According to the police file, Wolfram Hielmann has been suspected of rape and attempted rape several times. However, there was never a conviction due to a lack of evidence. According to Eisner's research, Thomas probably helped with bribes. He always protected his little brother, but according to the current evidence, he can no longer help him. Eisner now informs Thomas Hielmann that she works for the BKA, but that her feelings for him are real.

After a fifth victim is found and neither Thomas nor Wolfram Hielmann have a safe alibi, both remain in the focus of the investigators. Wolfram Hielmann is released from custody on bail and shoots himself in his apartment. His brother is then arrested again. But while he is being interrogated, Eisner falls into the hands of the real woman murderer. It is the courier driver René Rottländer, who was on the road for the Hielmann brothers every other day and so was able to slip the evidence found with them. The timely arrival of Commissioner Stephan Strauch saves her life.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv commented: “For the second time Ann-Kathrin Kramer is on the road as profiler Michelle Eisner. This time on the streets of Berlin. And again corpses pave their way. The only difference: the woman with the cat eyes in 'Razor Sharp' is not quite as neat and sexy as usual. Solid, exciting psychological thriller, well-groomed, fragile Peter Lohmeyer! "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm rated Messerscharf - Deadly Paths of Love with the words "Serial killer hunt as a way out of the crisis" with their best possible rating, thumbs up.
