Messiah Force was a Canadian heavy , power and speed metal band from Jonquière that was founded in 1984 and disbanded around 1991.

history

The band was founded in 1984 and consisted of the singer Lynn Renaud, the guitarists Bastien Deschênes and Jean Tremblay, the bassist Eric Parisé and the drummer Jean-Francois Boucher. It was created from the decay of the two local power metal bands Exode and Frozen. In 1987 the debut album The Last Day was released on Haissem Records . However, the sound carrier received little attention. In 1991 the Demo No Hideaway was released. Denis Dufour can then be heard as the new singer, as Lynn Renaud left the line-up for health reasons. Then the band broke up.

style

According to Allmusic , the music on the album is reminiscent of early Warlock and features strong Power Metal. Martin Popoff wrote in his book The Collector's Guide of Heavy Metal Volume 2: The Eighties that on The Last Day quickly played and technically demanding Thrash Metal is heard, the major label releases it from the with San Francisco Bay Area could take . In the review of the album on mega-metal.de it was stated that Messiah Force can be classified between Liege Lord , Chastain and Agent Steel . On the album the heavy metal is in constant change with the speed metal, the vocals are sometimes gentle, sometimes "scratchy". Dave "That Metal Guy" Campbell from metal-temple.com described the album as a legendary speed and power metal release. Sound parallels to Motörhead , DragonForce and Metallica can be heard on the album . In addition to occasionally slower passages, influences from punk can be heard every now and then .
