The MOL Aréna is a football stadium in the Slovak city of Dunajská Streda . It is the home of the DAC Dunajská Streda football club . The venue has borne the name of the Hungarian mineral oil company MOL since 2017 .
history
The main grandstand was built in the 1980s and completed in 1985 for the Spartakiade. The east grandstand and the grandstands with standing room were built between 1987 and 1989. The stadium is owned by the city and the pitch is 105 meters long and 68 meters wide. The illuminance of the floodlight system is 1,100 lux . The stadium has a capacity of 16,410 visitors, 3,410 of which are seats. Some sources also speak of a capacity of only 6,000 viewers. In October 2010 the stadium was closed for about two weeks due to the installation of a video surveillance system . The stadium has also been linked to the conflict between Hungary and Slovakia.
In 2016, the stadium was converted into a modern football stadium in several phases. After that it had a capacity of 13,000 seats.
