Mumm-Ra is an English indie rock band from Bexhill-on-Sea . Niall Buckler founded her in 2000 when she was only fourteen years old. The name comes from the villain "Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living" (Eng. Mumion) from the ThunderCats series . After their split in 2008, they reformed to perform live in 2012 and released a new EP Back to the Shore in 2014 .

history

The band gained some notoriety after a few self- released EPs and appearances as the opening act for The Kooks and Kaiser Chiefs when they took part in the 2007 NME Awards Indie Rock Tour. Then on May 28, 2007, they released their album These Things Move in Threes the record label Columbia Records . There were three single releases, Out Of the Question , What Would Steve Do? and She's Got You High . The fourth single to be released was Starlight , which never happened. From 2006 to 2008, the band appeared at several festivals, including the Southside Festival in Germany, and toured the UK and Japan. They also played songs that should have been released on a second studio album. Before that happened, the band split up on April 17th, 2008 with a message on their MySpace page. New and Arguile play in the band Mirrors today, keyboardist Tommy is active in the live performances of the band White Lies .

After their separation in 2008, they reformed to live performances in 2012 and released a new EP Back to the Shore in 2014 .
