Lubbock (On Everything) was the second record release by American country musician Terry Allen . Even if this double album never achieved large sales, it is still considered a milestone in the music that is now known as alternative country . The twenty songs for the album were recorded under the direction of Don Caldwell and Lloyd Maines in Lubbock , Texas in 1978 and released on Fate Records. In 1995 it was re-released on CD by the Sugar Hill Records label. Lubbock (On Everything) is rated as important in many reviews: Allmusic.com even describes the album as one of the finest country records of all time and notes that the otherwise little-noticed publication has achieved cult status among fans of the record. Many contemporary country musicians also describe the record as a major influence - u. a. Adam Carroll .

Worth mentioning

Many of the songs have been covered by other bands and artists over the years , including a. Truckload Of Art by Cracker , Amarillo Highway by Robert Earl Keen and - even before the release, namely in 1977 - New Delhi Freight Train by Little Feat . Numerous mainly American country bands have songs from this double album in their program - such as B. the Tennessee Rounders with Amarillo Highway .
