Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference ( MAAC ) is a league consisting of eleven universities for various sports that play in NCAA Division I.
The league was founded in 1980. The members are located in the northeastern United States . Its headquarters are in Edison , New Jersey .
From 1997 to 2003 the MAAC also included an ice hockey championship. Eventually the hockey league split from the MAAC and renamed itself Atlantic Hockey .
