The metropolitan region of Santarém , in Portuguese Região Metropolitana de Santarém , is a metropolitan region in the Brazilian state of Pará . It was established by law on January 17, 2012 and is based in the city of Santarém . It consists of the cities of Santarém, Belterra and Mojuí dos Campos .

With an area of 27,285 km² it had a population of 336,273 inhabitants (July 2018 estimate), which corresponds to a population density of 12.3 inhabitants per km².
